In an old bank barn just outside the city of Ashland lies The Parsley Pot, a refreshingly unique store carrying a variety of items from herbs to home dcor. The building attributes emphasis the character of the store from the hand-hewn beams to the agricultural tools proudly displayed on the walls. Walking through The Parsley Pot, visitors can get a sense of how the items will coordinate with each other and enhance a room through the beautiful displays.

Don and Sally Dilgard opened The Parsley Pot 41 years ago this coming September. Taking the time to talk to each customer, Don and Sally have taken care to create an environment focused on those entering the store.

Depending on the season, a variety of herbs are available through The Parsley Pot. "When we opened and started selling herbs, we were the only business in the area doing so," says Sally. Taking the time to package the herbs themselves, Sally and Don ensure the quality of the product they offer.

Samples of different dips greet customers as they walk through the barn door, allowing a taste of what a customer can expect to find. A selection of seasonings ranging from saltine cracker to elephant ear, cheese ball and soup mixes have become a popular sell among the patron's of The Parsley Pot.

Artfully placed displays spread throughout the barn incorporate various home dcor items. "I only purchase things I would put in my own house," says Sally. Everything from wall hangings to plate settings may be found at The Parsley Pot, each thoughtfully placed to spark the imagination. Wandering through the main floor and two lofts, a visitor is sure to find unique knickknacks and home dcor items for every home, no matter the style.

Many items within The Parsley Pot offer practical solutions to common household conundrums. The lids for tuberware containers always find a way to disappear, leaving the owners high and dry when trying to store left over food. The Parsley Pot carries an extensive line of silicon lids designed to form a suction on any container thus maintaining the freshness of the food. Available in multiple patterns, such as sunflower heads, and sizes the lids are capable of covering any size dish from a circular cake pan to a large rectangular casserole dish.

Wreaths that adorn the walls of The Parsley Pot can be found in various stages of completion. Well aware of the popularity surrounding DIY projects, Sally is sure to keep unfinished wreaths in stock as well as items to finish their decoration. A wall of ribbons provide customers with a large selection of colors and patterns including the currently popular burlap material.

An in-house designer is available through The Parsley Pot for those customers who do not wish to complete their own wreaths. Customers may come in with ideas for the wreath either from their own imagination or pictures they have seen elsewhere. Paint samples may also be brought in if a match between the wreath and wall colors are preferred. The Parsley Pot is more than willing to modify an existing wreath whether it was purchased through their store or from another location.

The items at The Parsley Pot change with the season and current trends. Each holiday, such as Mother's Day, brings about a new round of displays and themed items. With the recent popularity of bees, The Parsley Pot is currently carrying a line of dishes, dcor items and honey sticks inspired by the creatures. Repeat visits to The Parsley Pot are never wasted between the volume of intriguing items and the new pieces on display.
